can i put a big block 470 Chevy engine with 400 trans. in a 1972 buick skylark?
I bought a 1972 Buick Skylark and have destroyed? Rte '73 Chevy Nova, but with a perfect 470 Big Block and 400 transmission. Is it m throw? Resembled that in the Buick? if not directly, what? changes m? SSTE I do? Buick has a Chevy 350 in it already, but is blown. w? re cool if the function k? JH. Thanks guys look forward to the help.

Sure – It’ll fit. Won’t be a drop-in easy swap, but it’s been done before.
Yes but you probably have to change the motor mounts and the suspension to hold a big block. Just some random info the buick small block 350 is different than the chevy 350. the skylark came with 455 buick big block also. The frame of the skylark is supposedly Identical to the Chevelle so you should only need to change out the motor mounts. I’ve worked on Chevelles never put my hands on a skylark though.
Can & has been done. However, your car will be worth FAR more money with a 455 Buick under the hood.
FYI: 455′s have very small intake runner volume cylinder heads. Therefore, to make hp with them, they require LOTS of cam timing and 108 Lobe Separation Angle cams. 112 LSA cams are very lazy in 455′s unless they’re either a small cam or lots of compression.
