I have a 1993 ext 1500th Cab 4x4 and I m chte? The engine with more horsepower has to be replaced. Is there a crate motor, I can replace it k?. I do not want to start engine parts drawn from ten different trucks to get the results I need.

chevy offers a crate 383 for your truck with ungodly amounts of horsepower and torque….. and its only 2800 bucks…… look on the chevey motorsports web site for the 383 stroker…. it is awesome!
buy a new car.

You don’t mention what sort of shape the engine is in . It would help to know whether or not its really in need of replacing and what sort of cash your looking to spend . There are several things that you can do to the one that you have to up the performance . There are aftermarket throttle body upgrades and of course chip changes for your computer . The best bang for the buck often is best spent on a better set of heads and an aftermarket camshaft . The 383 mentioned earlier would definitely deliver the torque that would put a smile on anyones face
This is a tough one for a 93, since it is computerized TBI instead of the later Vortech engines, which were used in 96 and later trucks. If you are in a state that checks emissions you might be boned.
The 383 crate engine should give you what your looking for, but your computer would have to be reset to get the results desired.
