Need help finding the year of my late model Chevy 350 engine.?
I have a late model Chevy 350 but I do not know what year it is. I'm trying to find the engine # on the block. The engine is in the vehicle and functional so many places difficult to see on the block are. I think I found the number in the vicinity of the traders in the vicinity of the hyphen in the back, but I can not quite, all the numbers. Am I in the right place?

if your looking at the front of the motor ie water pump look to the left of the timming cover and there should be a flat spot there with some numbers on it ( if the block hasnt been milled to much) and there should be some numbers on the right side of the back of the block you can order a book from summit racing.com for about 10 bucks that decodes the numbers for you . you also might check at autozone they some times carrey stuff like that
