Question about a chevy small block engine?

4

I would like information about my 1968 Chevy small-block to get. The numbers on the engine will not be stamped 18F149997 VI206HM. I can not seem to narrow it to a certain shift, PS or use. What I know for sure that it is a '68, made in Flint, but I'm not sure about the horsepower or cubic inch / shift or if it is a 302 a 327, or 350 The block casting numbers are 3914678, on the one side, on the other K177. Thanks for any help.

will one its not a 302 the 302 would have a DZ where the HM is and all 302s had this code stamp on it and as im looking in my book the HM stands for 327 and the book also tells me that the 327v2 was 210HP@4600RPM & 320torq@2400RPM and the 327v4 was 275hp@4800RPM & 355torq@3200RPM

hope that helps

Call an engine rebuilding shop, they are usually pretty cool about providing information.
