Keep working on it. Still needs lots of work if its going to outrun anything on the street. Good luck.

I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc… and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape…and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree!

You must be fucking proud of driving something as fucking beautiful sounding as this.

TheBears84 @ 10:16 am #

it IS NOT a LT1 it is a 350 sbc tunedport with the tpis miniram on it.

Well, The sound may be off, because some audio’s on cheap cameras tend to do that. but it does seem like there is no throttle response.

CosmoJoe360 @ 11:51 am #

Some guys don’t like it loud but thats not the case for me

bighead29058 @ 12:02 pm #

Yup too quiet….make it much louder…will post my 64 El Camino with 70′s 350 as soon as i get it in from Nevada. Straight pipes…LOUDDDD

ZRider3591 @ 1:56 pm #

too quiet, make it louder

killerzracing71 @ 2:02 pm #

Yeah Optis are…….There are better setups that use the opti now as a crank trgger, called the LTCC and theres something I just learned about that gets rid of the opti all together, turns it into true LS1 style setup.

I was wrong I dont beilive thats an LT1 intake, its a Mini Ram intake.

EMPIRE0FLIES @ 2:19 pm #

I heard optis were a drag. They were positioned under the water pump. WAter pump fail , opti fail. Love the simpliclty of HEI but of course cant get the RPMs as high.

killerzracing71 @ 3:03 pm #

That is a LT1 intake, not TPI.

LT1 didnt have distributors they had opti spark, this one was moddifed to accept a distributor.

I have a 358 TPI in m 92 caprice wagon.

EMPIRE0FLIES @ 3:48 pm #

Ya thats a TPI. Looks like a mid 80s vette engine. HEI distributor tuned port injection. Sweet!!

dlinecg @ 4:03 pm #

lt1?

Elyvaldez9 @ 4:56 pm #

would it fit in a 65 mustang coupe

ShepperdW @ 5:55 pm #

yet you still have drum brakes???? WTF????
