I love my car and want to keep running, strong for a long time. I think the fresh oil in it all the time, but what else can I do to increase my engine life?

3000 mile oil changes keep it tuned up and don’t forget to service the tranny and brakes :)

1. Continue doing what you currently are, change the oil on a regular basis. The cheapest, easiest way to keep your vehicle running for years. When you are putting in the fresh oil, make sure to replace the oil filter also (some people side step that part).
2. Keep it tuned up–even a slight miss when let go for long will cause undo problems.
3. If it is an automatic have the transmission flushed once a year.
4. Never, under any circumstances, ever let my son drive your vehicle. That is a signed and sealed death warrant for any vehicle.

Put a new air filter in it at every oil change too, if you can afford it.

If oil additives were that advantangous, the auto manufacturers would be using it so they wouldn’t have to worry about engine wear problems.

Read this, especially the conclusion, before wasting money on aftermarket products:

Har de har,,, The Guinness Book of records claims that “Tuf-Oil” is the worlds best lubricant….price depends on the quantity..(I have four vehicles, a lawn mower.a Honda generator, and I use tough oil in them all..The stuff is a fluorocarbon based additive that molecularly bonds with the engine….and stops wear. The crankcase size determines the amount used,,5 or 6 quart?? you would start off at the next oil change. add 8 oz. and 4 ounces every oil change.thereafter..The oil is the blood of the engine… Style of driving, determines length of time btween changes…Stop and go is bad, as is dusty conditions.. I go the eggstra mile and use a superior oil filter, not just the kind that the jiffy lubes use (cheap filters don’t work as well) I have gone 5000 miles with my 93 S-10 with a 4.3 motor, and the oil is still mostly clear..My brother lives in Katy Texas and he had 295000 miles on an older chevy van, the compression tested (he said) 90% when he sold it.
I get the stuff by the gallon and it’s about $130.00. Smaller crankcases obviously use less..please look up “Fluoramics Inc”,and it will back up what I have said…They have a few million milers ………….Tuffoil.com..
