Coat the threads of the head bolts with GM 1052080 thread sealer or equivalent. Install the head bolts and tighten in sequence, in three passes, to 65 ft lbs. (92 Nm).

Oh and a 350small block is a 5.7L

From, follow the instructions for a 5.7L

Make sure he tightens them in the order specified in the picture.

Good engine, and about to turn 50 years old!

Best bet is to go and buy a motor manual for the vehicle. That way you will have all the information you need. It’s not JUST the torque, it’s the order it’s done in to seat things properly, and the steps that need to be done.

depends on what kind of vehicle
look at 8th VIN digit
H,J,T 74 – 75 FT LBS
L 75 – 81 “”
V, X 76 – 77 “”
4, 8 78 – 79″”
6 80 – 88″”
as per Victor Reinz Torque Specs

It’s whatever the Haynes or Clymer’s manual you’re about to buy says it is. That’s not the kind of thing you get from dimwits like me on Yahoo.
