will my warner t5 bolt onto my 350 chevy engine?

1

I have a 1990 s10 with a second 5-liter engine. It has a Borg Warner T5 gearbox, it is possible to connect it to my crate engine 350? Where would I find the new bellhousing to the two, and what other parts I need a connection. Thank you

I don’t know if you would want to try. I don’t think that T5 will last long at all behind a 350, even if the bellhousing bolts up correctly from the 4 to the 8. The non-WC T5′s from that time period are notoriously weak, and I’m sure the 4 bangers got the runts of the Tremec litter.

You can get a transmission adapter from TransDapt if you can manage to get it to work properly.

Better to see if you can sell off your T5, and then try to source a T56 from Craigslist, eBay or the junkyard, which will give you 6 gears in about the same case profile, and a better torque rating. That’s my two cents, anyway.

If you want a far better informed answer, try the link below – get yourself a screen name and password, and you’ll be in with a ton of like-minded S10 folks, some of who may have stumbled over your issue as well.

Good luck!
